      What’s behind the numbers.

      Our RRIF calculator assumes that:

      1. Your RRIF started after 1992
      2. RRIF withdrawals occur at the end of the year
      3. Interest is compounded annually
      4. Your RRIF balance is the amount you have in your RRIF when you begin withdrawals. If you haven’t already converted your RRSP to an RRIF, be sure to include any future RRSP contributions you plan to make in this balance.

Note: The RRIF calculator provides estimates only. The calculations aren’t a definitive analysis nor do they represent actual minimum withdrawals or payments made from an RRIF over any given time period. Actual withdrawal minimums, payments and investment periods will vary over time, depending on changing circumstances, actual rates of return, and other factors.
